Oak Ledge
Sometimes challenging site issues can be catalysts for amazing design opportunities. An ugly ledge outcropping in our client's back yard provided a perfect space to create an elevated swing set/play space and fire pit area. The swingset, formerly situated in a hot, sunny part of the lawn was repositioned in the shade of large oak trees and set on pea stone. Natural granite steps lead up to a natural bluestone fire pit terrace and seating area. Natural plantings and landscape boulders reduce slope erosion and add aesthetic beauty to the exposed ledge face. Soft downlighting and path lights invite guests to enjoy the space during the evening hours.
